1st RUEPEP Conference of the Andalusian Universities

The Director of ACCUA, Mr. Antonio Cubero Atienza, has participated in the 1st Conference of the University Network of Postgraduate Studies and Permanent Education (RUEPEP), organized by the Andalusian Universities, which was held on November 22, 2023 at the University of Cordoba.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of University, Research and Innovation of the Government of Andalusia, Mr. José Carlos Gómez Villamandos and by the Rector of the UCO, Mr. Manuel Torralbo, in addition to the President of the University Network of Postgraduate Studies and Permanent Education (RUEPEP), Mr. Nicolás Rodríguez García and by the Vice-rector of Continuing Training, Employability and Entrepreneurship of the UCO, Mr. Antonio Arenas Casas, and where technicians and those responsible for quality management systems of Andalusian public universities met.

On this day, the Director addressed the perspective of the quality of the teachings and ongoing training of Andalusian universities as an aspect of responsibility of the universities towards the society, to which this offer is directed. The paradigm of lifelong learning is today, more than ever, an undeniable reality, and universities must provide an agile and effective response to this, being sensitive to the demand from professionals and companies. But this offer must be inextricably linked to its quality, within the recognized international parameters, and especially the ESG 2015. The Director of ACCUA also framed his presentation in the legal aspect that regulates this type of training, specifically derived from Royal Decree 822/2021, Royal Decree 640/2021, the Resolution of the General Secretariat of Universities of March 3, 2022, as well as LOSU itself. The fundamental role that the accreditation agencies of the autonomous communities, as well as the ANECA, must play in this area was highlighted. And the path marked from the legal regulations, and from the framework standards that regulate these aspects, such as the institutional accreditation of Centers, taking as the main axis the Internal Quality Management System of the Center or the University itself. Since May 2022, the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies (REACU) has developed an orientation guide in this regard, as well as the ACCUA Agency with the IMPLANTA program. Microcredentials deserve express mention, due to their novelty and current development, as a flexible training tool that universities must take advantage of to enhance their own teaching offering in a competitive framework.
